The Lady Trojans are sticking with a familiar face for their new head girls' basketball coach. Jeremy Tatum, who stepped in as the interim head coach in late December of the 2023-24 regular season and was one win away from clinching a postseason berth. Tatum has been a part of the Trojans coaching staff since his internship in December of 2014.

The Robert E. Lee (now Tyler Legacy) graduate is no stranger to the sidelines of Brookshire Gymnasium. He was the head boys assistant for long-time head coach of the Trojans boys' basketball team Eddie Francis. He was also the head assistant for former head coach Brian Jones. The Trojans have had an overall record of 224-123 (.646) since his tenure began. This includes a runner-up finish in the 14-15 TAPPS State Championship and an appearance in the TAPPS Final Four in the 16-17 season.

The Lady Trojans have had Tatum as their head assistant for two seasons under former head coach Amanda Hoover before her resignation.

"I feel like this opportunity has been a long time coming. I've been a part of this athletic program for years and I believe I can help this team take the next step. It's time to build up a powerhouse," Tatum said. "When I got the call from the school Headmaster, I felt great! Getting a shot at helping grow what I helped build the foundation of is an honor."

Tatum is also a head coach and COO for Ballers Nation Basketball, an east Texas-based organization that is part of the Puma NXT/PRO16 National Circuit.
