OLLU's Ross, LCU's Louviere recognized with RRAC softball weekly honors

WACO, Texas – Grace Ross of Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas) captured the RRAC Softball Player of the Week award for March 25-31, while Morgan Louviere of Louisiana Christian University was named the RRAC Pitcher of the Week for the same dates. This is the ninth set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC softball season.


Ross went 3-for-4 as the Saints swept their doubleheader with conference challenger University of Houston-Victoria (Texas) on Thursday. The junior catcher from Austin, Texas, homered and drove in two runs in both games as OLLU won by scores of 4-0 and 8-0. Ross also contributed a double and nine putouts. She jumped to second in the RRAC in home runs (7) and seventh in RBIs (22) on the season. The top-ranked Saints remain unbeaten in conference play at 14-0 with a 37-1 record overall.


Louviere recorded a no-hitter over five innings in the Wildcats' 7-0 victory over Jarvis Christian University (Texas) on Thursday. The junior righthander from Opelousas, La., missed a perfect outing with one hit batsman. Louviere struck out one while improving to 8-3 in the circle this season. She is fifth in the conference in wins and 10th in ERA (3.15). LCU climbed to 10-6 in the RRAC and 20-13 on the season.
