Selfridge and Williams Earn SAC Softball Player of the Week Honors

Oklahoma City – Sierra Selfridge and Sophie Williams of Science & Arts earned this week’s Sooner Athletic Conference Oklahoma Ford Dealers Softball Players of the Week honors following their efforts during the period that ended on March 31, 2024, as announced by the conference office Monday Morning.

Selfridge helped the Drovers to a 4-0 sweep of Southwestern Christian by going 5-for-14 at the plate with a pair of home runs and 10 runs batted in while having a .786 slugging percentage for the week. In the final game of the series, Selfridge drove in six runs with a homer as the Drovers claimed a 7-6 win over the Eagles.

Other Nominees - Emersen Heron, Oklahoma City, Kylie Barnes, Texas Wesleyan, Karlee Danielson, Mid-America Christian, Trista Ford, SAGU, Tandy Garrett, Langston, Hannah Keele, Southwestern Christian, Nicole Peralta, Oklahoma Panhandle State, and Arianna Zubia, Wayland Baptist (TX).

Williams tallied a perfect 2-0 record, and she also recorded her first save of the season. She produced an impressive 0.40 ERA and struck out 29 batters, while only allowing five hits in 17.2 innings of work. In a series-opening 4-0 win over Southwestern Christian, Williams allowed one hit and had 16 strikeouts in the victory while adding 10 more strikeouts in the following contest that resulted in a 7-1 win for the Drovers. This is the fifth time this season that Williams has claimed the conference weekly honor.
